‘The Truth of the Cross’ by R.C. Sproul – FREE for Kindle

We are just days away from celebrating one of the most fundamental Christian holidays, Easter. But what is Easter without the cross? Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf is a center of R.C. Sproul’s book ‘The Truth of the Cross’. The Kindle version of this book is now offered freely on Amazon.com. It is a limited time offer, so make sure you get yours today.

Dr. R.C. Sproul surveys the great work accomplished by Jesus Christ through His crucifixion the redemption of God s people. Dr. Sproul considers the atonement from numerous angles and shows conclusively that the cross was absolutely necessary if anyone was to be saved. Opening the Scriptures, Dr. Sproul shows that God Himself provided salvation by sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross, and the cross was always God s intended method by which to bring salvation. The Truth of the Cross is an uncompromising reminder that the atonement of Christ is an absolutely essential doctrine of the Christian faith, one that should be studied and understood by all believers.

“The Truth of the Cross is the best book on the cross I have read. It is a ‘must’ for every church library and a book that I will give away many times to friends. This is so because it is sober (i.e., it contains historically informed reflections on salient biblical texts), sensible (i.e., it is well-argued), simple (i.e., it holds the reader’s attention through grabbing illustrations and even a seventh-grader can its substance), and spiritual (i.e., it comes from a heart set ablaze by the Spirit).” – Dr. Bruce K. Waltke, Professor RTS

“The cross stands at the very center of our Christian lives. Still, many Christians are confused about the heart of the gospel, for many deviant views are in the air. R.C. Sproul blows the fog away in this wonderfully clear, theologically profound, and pastorally rich work. Learn afresh or anew what God has accomplished in the cross, so that you will boast only in the cross of Jesus Christ.” – Dr. Thomas R. Schreiner, Professor SBTS

Dr. R.C. Sproul is the founder and chairman of Ligonier Ministries, an international multimedia ministry based in Lake Mary, Florida, and can be heard teaching around the United States and overseas on his daily radio program Renewing Your Mind. He also serves as senior minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew s Chapel in Sanford, Florida. During his distinguished academic career, Dr. Sproul has helped train men for the ministry as a professor at Reformed Theological Seminary and later at Knox Theological Seminary. He is the author of more than sixty books, including The Holiness of God, Chosen by God, What is Reformed Theology?, The Invisible Hand, Faith Alone, and A Taste of Heaven. He also served as general editor of the Reformation Study Bible.

Happy New Year from OSNOVA!

“The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” (Lamentations 3:22-24)

What a year we all have had! A generous dose of joy and excitement, along with a heap of grief and confusion. While some rejoiced in their victories, others cried at their losses. Yet each of us – you and me – was sustained by God’s merciful and faithful hand! Whatever good or bad we’re leaving behind in 2012, our Lord Jesus is near to us as we step into a brand new year!..

Just as Samuel after the battle, we want to proclaim at the end of this year, “Thus far the Lord has helped us” (1 Sam. 7:12). We praise our Father for providing for our families when we were unable to, for sustaining our health when we thought our bodies a lost cause, for stirring hope and strength within us at the end of our failed attempts, for humbling us when our successes blinded us, for walking with us and carrying us when we feared we were alone… What an amazing, powerful, loving God we serve!

Along with our kids we pray for a blessed 2013 for you and us. May our eyes see the mighty hand of our God, our ears hear His voice, and our hearts follow Him daily in this new, exciting chapter of our lives!..

Have a Blessed New Year!

Albert Barnes’ Notes on the New Testament

We are happy to announce for Christmas the release of Notes on the New Testament by Albert Barnes for the Kindle.

The best-selling Notes on the New Testament were written over a number of years in 11 volumes by the 19th century American theologian Albert Barnes. They contain evangalical verse-by-verse explanation of the Bible using the King James translation. Charles Spurgeon said of this commentary, “No minister can afford to be without it.”

This OSNOVA Kindle edition contains complete and unabridged text of the Notes in one electronic publication, which is made easy to navigate via a Direct Verse Jump (DVJ) method, an active table of contents, and a cross-reference system between the Notes and the included Bible.

The DVJ works both for the Bible and the Notes, making it easy to open any Bible verse or Notes passage. There are also other navigational aids, described in detail at the beginning of the book. We highly recommend that you take time to read the instructions on how to use this excellent study tool effectively before you dig into the book!

DISCLAIMER: Not all features of this publications are supported on Kindle applications (e.g., Kindle for iPhone, iPad, or PC) or some Kindle models (e.g. original Kindle Fire). This is a limitation imposed by software developed by Amazon and is out of our control.

If you have any questions or concern please email us first at osnova@gmail.com. We want to provide the best service and receive five-star reviews from you!  Please leave positive reviews!

Countdown to Thanksgiving

What?! Can it be true? Thanksgiving is just around the corner. But where did the year go?..

Are we the only ones who feel like the year has just flew by with the unheard of speed?..

It certainly has been a fast-paced and busy year for our family. The move from California back to Virginia, the search for jobs, house repairs, a shed built from scratch, new school for Bogdan, pre-K for Daryna, search for the right church… No wonder the time went by so fast.

As we approach yet another Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful for. God’s faithfulness and goodness have been so powerfully present in our lives this year! Here are just a few things from the big ‘thank-you’ list:

Great schools for our kids

This was the first year the Bogdan went to a public school. We were worried about almost everything. Now we see it as a special blessing, as he has a wonderful teacher and a great class. He sure is one happy kid this year, enjoying his studies, home work, and reading.

Daryna is happy now, too, as after a year of begging us to put her to school she got her wish! We were able to find a Christian school just minutes from our house that is not only excellent in program, but also quite affordable. She loves her teachers and classmates!

–  Wonderful home church

After months of searching for a church that would truly meet our needs, we have found one that is justright. We love the solid and powerful teaching, the worship, and the out-of-this-world childcare! :) Having three young kids, a good childcare is not a small thing for us.

Illya’s new job

It’s never easy to find a job in this economy, especially after a big move like ours. We are very grateful for the job God has provided for Illya.

We thank God for keeping us healthy and safe, for blessing us with good friends, for watching over our kids, for the constant provision and numerous blessings we see everyday. Above everything else, we are grateful for His closeness, for walking this road with us, and keeping our family in His hand…

What are you thankful for this year?
What challenges and blessings have you encountered this year?

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17
